How to Apply Your Pre Cut Edible Icing Sheet Circles Correctly
Six steps for a clean, consistent result when applying pre cut icing sheets across a full batch of desserts.

Make Sure the Surface Is Ready to Receive the Topper
Pre cut frosting sheets work best on surfaces that carry enough natural moisture to pull the circle into place. Fresh buttercream, ganache, fondant, and icing are all reliable bases. Avoid applying to surfaces that are dry and hard, very oily, or chilled with condensation from the refrigerator, as the topper will struggle to grip and may lift away from the edge within a short time.

Peel Each Pre Cut Icing Sheet Circle Individually
Hold the sheet flat and lift each pre cut icing sheet circle away from the backing using clean, dry fingertips. Because every circle is already separated, there is nothing to cut or prepare. Each topper peels away cleanly and is immediately ready to place. If any circle is slow to release, lay the sheet flat in the freezer for 10 to 15 seconds and try again.

Bond It to the Surface Using the Right Adhesive
On fresh buttercream and icing, the moisture already present in the surface is usually sufficient to hold a custom printed edible icing sheet circle in place without any additional adhesive. On drier surfaces such as fondant, apply a very light layer of moisture to the back of the circle before placing it. A brush barely dipped in water, a small amount of piping gel, or two to three drops of edible glue works well. Too much moisture will cause the frosting sheet to warp or the colors to bleed.

Place Each Circle and Press from the Centre Out
Set each circle onto the top of the cupcake or dessert and press gently from the middle outward using a clean, dry fingertip. This motion pushes out any air that has been trapped beneath the pre cut frosting sheet and ensures the entire surface of the circle makes proper contact with the dessert. Avoid sliding or adjusting the circle after it has made contact with the surface.

Allow the Batch to Set Before Moving or Packaging
After placing toppers across the full batch, give all of them a short period of undisturbed setting time before stacking, boxing, or moving the desserts. Boxing cupcakes too quickly after applying pre cut edible icing sheets is a common reason for toppers lifting at the edge. A few minutes of rest after decorating will make a clear difference.

Store Away from Condensation and Refrigeration
Once the pre cut edible icing sheets are applied, store the finished desserts in a cool, dry place and keep them out of the refrigerator. The condensation that develops inside a fridge softens the frosting sheet material, causes the printed colors to spread, and reduces the overall sharpness of the image.
