How to Apply Your Square Frosting Sheet Topper
Six steps for a flat, clean result with sharp corners on any square dessert surface.

Confirm Your Surface Is Ready
A 5x5" square topper works best on fresh buttercream, smooth fondant, or fully set ganache applied to a flat surface. Square desserts need particularly even coverage to ensure all four corners of the frosting sheet bond correctly. Avoid any surface that is wet, oily, or covered in condensation, as these will prevent the topper from sticking and staying flat.

Lift the Square from the Frosting Sheet
With completely dry hands, hold the topper at two opposing corners and peel it away from the custom frosting sheet backing slowly and evenly. A gentle, consistent tension prevents stretching or tearing at the edges. If the sheet is gripping the backing, place it flat in the freezer for 10 to 15 seconds. The brief cold firms the material and allows a clean release.

Use the Right Amount of Adhesive
On a dry surface like fondant, the back of the topper needs just a small amount of adhesive to grip correctly. A brush lightly coated in water, a thin layer of piping gel, or three to four drops of edible glue spread evenly across the back is sufficient. Going beyond this will cause the printed frosting sheet to bubble, wrinkle, or bleed colour into the surface below.

Place the Square Flat and Level
Hold the topper above the dessert and check that all four edges are aligned before making contact. Lower it flat onto the surface and press from the centre outward toward each corner using a fondant smoother or the flat of your hand. This pushes air out from the middle and ensures all four corners sit flush with the surface beneath.

Give the Sheet Time to Bond
Once the custom frosting sheet is flat and smooth, step away and let it adhere without any interference. Pay particular attention to the corners, which are the most likely areas to lift if touched or adjusted during bonding. A few minutes of undisturbed setting time will produce a result that stays in place and looks clean from every angle.

Protect the Decorated Dessert from Moisture
After your printed frosting sheet has been applied, keep the dessert in a cool, dry location and avoid placing it in the refrigerator. Moisture inside a fridge causes the frosting sheet material to soften, the image to lose sharpness, and the colours to spread beyond their original edges. Room temperature storage in a dry environment preserves the print quality for far longer.
